Netgear Boosts Bandwidth with New Wi-Fi Antenna

ComputerWeekly.com reports that Netgear is boosting Wi-Fi bandwith and bandwidth ranges with it's newest technology - antennas. RangeMax is the newest Wi-Fi technology that is designed to maximize network performance while reducing the effects of radio frequency interference.

This new technology includes the RangeMax Dual Band Wireless-N Router, RangeMax Wireless-N Gigabit Router, the 5GHz Wireless-N HD Access Point/Bridge, the HD/Gaming 5GHz Wireless-N Networking Kit, and the RangeMax Dual Band Wireless-N USB Adapter. The products were developed to satisfy a growing number of bandwidth-intensive Wi-Fi applications, including streamed high-definition video and online gaming.

These products incorporate numerous internal antenna arrays based on metamaterials technology. According to Netgear, the unique wireless signal patterns and properties delivered by metamaterial antenna arrays help boost range and performance. Netgear's Wireless-N products are based on the IEEE 802.11n Draft 2.0 specification, and have all been certified by the industry's Wi-Fi Alliance.
