Cell Phones Could Save Senior Citizens' Lives

News 13 out of Orlando, Florida is reporting that the use of cell phones could greatly reduced the risk of danger to the lives of it's local senior citizens. So before throwing out your old cell phone, it's strongly suggested that you consider donating your old cell phone.

A local senior care group, SeniorLinks, has started a program that collects old or gently used cell phones for reconditioning. This reconditioning enables senior citizens to call 911. There is a great need for these reconditioned cell phone since most of the seniors are homebound, live in isolated areas or live alone. "Cell Phones for Seniors", run by SeniorLinks was formed to help in identifying homebound and isolated neighbors and to give each senior citizen a life-saving reconditioned cell phone.

"Volunteer Organization of Involved City Employees," known as V.O.I.C.E., provides numerous drop-off sites for collecting the phones. The goal for SeniorLinks is to collect at least 300 phones.
